-
No. During the first 12 weeks after your accident, you do not need a referral from your family physician or nurse practitioner to begin chiropractic care, massage therapy, or acupuncture. Simply provide your ICBC claim number and PHN when booking your appointment.

The earlier you begin treatment, the better. Starting care soon after your accident allows your practitioner to assess your injuries, begin treatment promptly, and help prevent stiffness, pain, and movement restrictions from becoming more persistent.
-
If you continue to require treatment beyond your pre-approved sessions, your practitioner can submit clinical information to ICBC explaining why additional care is medically necessary. ICBC reviews ongoing treatment requests based on your recovery progress and functional goals.
-
