Do I need a referral to see a chiropractor in Vancouver?
No, referrals are not necessary to see a chiropractor. Oftentimes, medical doctors may refer patients to see a chiropractor but this is not necessary. If you have aches and pains in the body or sustained an injury, you can book directly with a Chiropractor.
When to see a chiropractor after an injury?
Injuries heal better with long-term results when they are treated earlier. When injuries are left untreated, it can lead to bigger problems as the body compensates improperly.
Is Chiropractic safe?
Yes! Chiropractic care is safe. Chiropractors are trained to assess conditions and evaluate the safety and benefits of delivering treatment. There are several different styles of treatment that can be provided. A safe and effective chiropractic treatment will be proposed and discussed with you prior to starting treatment!
Can Chiropractors help with chronic injuries?
Chronic injuries are aches and pains that last longer than 12 weeks. If you have not received treatment or a current medical treatment does not seem to be giving you the results you are looking for, it is encouraged to seek a second opinion from a Doctor of Chiropractic.
Will I need to see my Chiropractor forever?
No, it takes an average of 4-7 treatments to help with minor issues.* Many patients realize that everyday life and activities can cause tension in their muscles and joints so they may pursue a maintenance visit for optimal health. They may notice when their posture is imbalanced or their motion is reduced and will book an appointment to address it.

What to expect on the first Chiropractic visit in Vancouver at Omni Health and Wellness?
You will receive intake forms via email before your first visit. These forms will ask about your injury, goals, and medical health history. This information will allow your chiropractor to understand your needs to serve you better! It is encouraged to fill out the forms before coming to the clinic. If you prefer to fill out the forms in person, it is kindly asked to arrive 15 minutes before your appointment for the paperwork.
Once the chiropractor has reviewed the information, they will ask you detailed questions focusing on the issue such as:
“What activity hurts your low back the most”
“What kind of pillow are you using when your neck hurts”
“Does the pain radiate anywhere else in the body”
“How would you describe your diet?”
A physical exam will be conducted which involves testing the range of motion and mobility of the affected area, a hands-on exam to feel for tight muscles and restricted joint motion, and special orthopedic tests to further examine the complaints.
At this point, the chiropractor will discuss their findings and diagnosis with you. A treatment will be proposed to start your journey for healing! Referrals to other healthcare practitioners may be recommended to address the body holistically. Patients are encouraged to ask questions to be a part of the decision-making and understanding their body!
A unique treatment plan will be provided for you. Some common techniques include stretching, soft tissue therapy, exercise, and chiropractic adjustments, and ‘homework’ for optimal recovery!
Shockwave Therapy for muscle, tendon, and joint injuries
Our Vancouver chiropractor offers shockwave therapy! Shockwave Therapy is a safe non-invasive treatment that uses high-energy waves to target areas of pain or injury. These waves stimulate blood flow, accelerate tissue regeneration, and help break down calcifications, all of which promote natural healing.
